What are these pully's for? I found that my car is running with no belt on them.

Oh sweet. So nothing serious then. Also the belt next to it seems to be cracking in places. Any ideas what that's for? Alternator is my first guess haha

You can kind of see in that picture if you look at the black grooved part of the belt. There are many tiny hairline cracks on the grooves of the belt that slot into the pullys.

It needs to be replaced or it will snap by the looks of that, then you will loose your power steering and the battery will also go flat very quickly and you'll be stranded!

Is it a big job? Also why you guys are here, I've finally located the sparkplugs on this thing but they look almost impossible to get to. Any tips for an easy removal and replace of them? Cheers.

no the belt replacement is easy as, just take that plate off (2 bolts) loosen the tensioner (2 bolts) and take belt off, and put new one on - repeat step 1 and 2 in reverse order.

10 mins max.

There is no easy replacement of spark plugs in horizontally opposed engines.

Belts are very easy, there's a bolt to the left of your alternator that shifts it up and down, lower it to get the belt on/off raise it to secure.

so $50 bucks for genuine belt -(wikibaru)?

he said the repco belt he got was too small then too big, does repco etc sell the right size one? i was told there is no point spending that much on genuine belts
