iirc its the crank seal- and his mates perky'ing it up for him.

Yep, oil pump seal and crank shaft seal have gone. I'm also getting the timing belts, water pump and camshaft seals done at the same time. My mate (qualified mechanic) quoted $600 to do the lot.

mate sorry to say thats not cheap AT ALL! thats like full shop price and mybe then and some!!!! i cant get parts at trade price be less that 250 and labor be around 100

Well those weren't the only parts that were replaced. He did me a favour and I did him a favour considering he's a good mate and currently between jobs.

ahh well, since noone car come I may as well tell you all what we had in mind.

the idea was stolen from ClubSUB mum, Dunedin people go on a "mystery cruise" and end up in Timaru, as do the CHCH people. but since no Duinedin people can make it I may as well re route the CHCH crusie gotta keen then on their toes
