Have EJ16. What do?

so basically i have all the old running gear from the 1.6 Auto. the engine looks like i needs a new crank seal and belt, but otherwise ok.

should i sell as is

should i repair the seals, clean it up and sell

or ?? ??

then profit?!

kinda tempted to throw it all back into the bent RA shell to create a weird-as runabout. but i think straightening that car alone would cost 2-3k

i think dreams of resurrecting that shell are pointless. If anything put in a straight shell and have a run about - or just sell the long block.. probly get F* all for it..

Independant throttlebodys are pretty expensive.. But I do like the sound of using them

thinking pull it apart, practice/learn to port the heads and slap on a primary from an old TT

forced induction (low boost no i/c) + quad throttles do sound fun tho

there must be some small enough throttles at a wreckers that could be botched to work.

Could get some quad throttles off a toyota 4AGE, but they dont come up terribly often and everyone is looking for them... or for pure awesomeness chuck a pair of side draught webbers onto it with some velocity stacks on em, the right ones will handle some boost (8psi ish).

Depends if you want to go the injected or carby route

It looks like they unbolt from the manifold. My flat mate is attempting to put 6x of those onto the 1GGE in his van, will quiz him when I see him next about how.

Ive got a silver top quad throttles off a toyota 4AGE That I was originally thinking of using on my SVX. I got 6 Throttle bodys all up.

an almost stripped vz, would make an ideal paddock racer/stockcar etc, still has live plates but does need a fair bit of stuff put into it to get it on the road again!

yep its the straighter one of the two iirc, if you do a drive by past mine, its the one on blocks, make an offer, i dont want a fortune for it, and still have some of the parts that have been taken.

going to investigate a legacy shell and build a runabout. still going to port the 1.6 and leave room for a t'bo though

question:

worth honing the bores and installing new piston rings on the 1.6? can that be done cheaply?
