painting brakes

So i want to paint my brakes as the red has flaked off. before i get started i just want to know from your experiences if theres anything i should watch out for any tricks to speed it up?

I not planning on taking the brakes off just going to mask it up like a mofo but i want to paint the subaru white and the rest red i've been told to just spray them all red and then go over the subaru in white paint by hand afterwards.

what paint should i use as i don't want it flaking off so fast again i'm going to sand them before painting and i might as well primer it. Just don't want it being to thick as i only have a 1mm between my mags and brakes as it is.

I was told a trick of a light smear of Vaseline over the writing. Paint on DAS VAS won't dry and once rest is dry, just hose off vas.

So we painted them so i thought i'd do i step by step

the start

1st i prep-soled the brakes to clean them

finished prepsol

then used a blade to scrap the rest of the painted off then sanded

Masked up with paper and tape then a base coat of white paint

It was coated in red with hardener

after 30min applied not very sticky tape which can be done by sliding your fingers down the tape a couple of times

then with a very steady hand used a paint brush and applied the white

leave to dry

remove paper and check for any missed bits as they weren't taken off the car

fit wheel

there a little bright but i'm sure they will fade with wear and tear.

we were going to sand the subaru and then polish it, then clear over top but it was just to much effort with them still on the car

brand i think was du-beer as i did it down at my car painters work(Terry Andrews) wasn't expensive that way

he was down there sanding his bike so said come down and i'll help with your brakes and you can keep me company.

just going to leave the back ones black for now me thinks it would look tacky ? :-\.

most likely just car paint.

it should be good for a few years he said he's more worried about stones as its still pretty fresh.

I just used normal old red spray paint, came out really good

i myt see what the local shop will charge 4 a small amount of red paint and brush it on, see how it goes, im piking they wont make up a spray can

yeah i see i few pictures on google. i can't see the photo displayed above must be cause i'm at work?

mine would look more like this bottom ones as i also have the same wear marks on the bottom line. :-[

those look mean. as soon as i can get some 4 pots im gonna powder coat em. then test and see if its to hot for the powder to handle lol
