Horror stories from CHCH mechanics?

Just wondering who has had trouble with mechanics in chch?

A few bad experience personally

clutch install gone bad which dmgd my gearbox

ripped off by a few people in my early days

who what and where is what we wana know -don't be to harsh as we all make mistakes but those who sort out there mistakes an stand by there work is another story

you somehow make me work on your car for free so I would say you are ripping me off :D

I have to say as an aprentice mechanic ive worked in places that keep old tail light bulbs an wiper blades to show customers just to justify replacing good parts to beef up the price of a WOF.

WOFs being the one service that circumvents labour costs as most of ur 35 - 40 dollars is processing an adim costs at LTSA.

Add a couple of bulbs at 15 a pop 2 wiper blades at 10 an they have plundered another 50 for work not needed. The only way to avoid this is by going to a testing station only.

noone puts anything on my or the mrs car without ringing me 1st. it would only take one customer like me to sort out a shady shithole like that.

Rick Armstrong use to always do this, anything under $100 they would automatically do like windsheild wipers. I caught them out twice, charging me for stuff they did not do. Would always say they have rotated my tyres when I could tell they hadn't been rotated at all. Use to piss me off royally. Even got vouchers as I caught the receptionist bitching about boyracer cars as mine was rumbling outside when I came in to pick it up... She didn't realise I was the owner.

Um where do I start, Went to a very well known tuner.... Had a set of headers that cracked was told they were all good to be welded up and all. Close to a grand worth of labour later, everything they had welded up cracked/leaking within a month or two. Found out the welding jobs were almost pointless, and the up-pipe/headers will need replacing anyhow.

2nd place I went to said how crap the job was and relocated my external, re-did the up-pipe, fixed the leak in the down pipe..... AFter this I had issue after issue with boost spike and everything. Was a big FFS moment!! Was getting tired wasting money not fixing problems.

Finally for the half the cost of both jobs combined I went to see Tony at RDL peformance. He sussed me a new modified up-pipe, a good set of headers from one of the rally cars, relocated the external and all the labour included. Which fixed most of my issues, hence I have never gone anywhere else since Koom told me bout RDL performance.

Had another Tuner tune out the issues of my car instead of fixing them, injectors were flooding my engine so the seals were replaced... Someone didn't put back in the O rings and hence it was tuned over instead as it was still flooding the engine. My injectors maxed out and was told I would need bigger injectors. Which didn't work out as 650cc injectors that should not max out at 220kw atw.

      Afternoon team,
      im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket. 
      Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.
