Hey guys,

I'm going to attempt to replace the primary turbo on my vehicle as it seems to be poked so was hoping if anyone has any experience in doing this they could please give me some pointers? Any help would be much appreciated.

Cheers,

Ben

Heres a basic rundown of the removal (stolen from my workshop manual..)

1) Set the vehicle on the lift.

2) Disconnect the ground cable from battery.

3) Remove the intercooler.

4) Remove the center exhaust pipe.

5) Lower the vehicle.

6) Separate the turbocharger joint pipe from turbocharger.

7) Loosen the clamp which secures turbocharger to

air inlet duct.

8 ) Disconnect the engine coolant hose.

9) Remove the bolt which secures bracket of oil

pipe to turbocharger.

10) Remove the oil pipe from turbocharger.

11) Remove the turbocharger bracket.

12) Disconnect the oil and coolant outlet hose from

pipe.

13) Take out the turbocharger from engine compartment

yep good idea then remove heat shields and follow instructions from jord also there is a prick of a pipe under turbo that runs back into crankcase just has simple clamp on it if turbo doesnt come out thats what will be holding it (thats how i found it) also use tons of wd40 or similar penetrant on exhaust housing bolts before you try to undo just take your time and you be sweet as

Check the oil flow to the turbo, 9 times out of 10 the banjo filter is blocked causing low oil flow/pressure and was the cause of the first turbo dieing

probably four hours, possibly more if the nuts are as stuck as mine were. A very long socket extension is your friend to access the nuts holding the turbo on to the up pipe, also long needle nose pliers and a decent light to access the clamps on the coolant hoses.

buy new gaskets, you will more than likely damage the original ones when removing down pipe off the back & turbo from up pipe resulting in leaks when you bolt the new turbo up.

Where are you based?

edit: I see Hamilton or I would have offered some help.

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
