Anyone who didnt go to megameet go along to this ? I did the whole 3 days, was a pretty good weekend overall.

Good to see the different classes, with the GT1 and muscle touring cars classes involving a bit of jappa power. BT's Spec C looked and sounded mean until he got nudged into the wall near the end of the Sunday race, was gutted to see that. Cool to see the drift boys out providing some entertainment as well.

Weather made things interesting especially on Saturday with quite a few incidents around the track. Pretty good weekend rounded off with the kiwi Shane van Gisbergen taking out race 2, awesome to see, and O's on each corner on the victory lap, legend.

Only gripe is how expensive the trackside food and alcohol was, made a few trips to the pub instead which was a bit cheaper !

I didnt actually see BT's off as i was between the first and second corner, but he was going very well and it was sad to see something like that happen, best of luck to BT

Hard luck BT..good to see they have added some more cars into classes..always thought it needed some to make more people relate to what they are seeing.

Yeah i heard u werent in the best shape afterwards, im assuming you and the mustang got tangled up? as the last i saw u were pretty close to him on the run to the second corner looking like you were going to make a move

Summary of events below:

Managed to get from 14th up to 6th, and on the last lap second to last corner was following a big mustang with 700+ HP, went wide into turn 8, so I went up the inside, was well past him at the right kink before turn 9 onto the main straight, but he made contact on my left rear wheel, and back of the rear door. This put me into a spin at around 140km/h straight into the wall. Needless to say a ride I didnt particularly want or need... I'm a bit battered and bruised, was a hell of an impact, just bloody thankful for the new HANS, and head restraint seat. Car is pretty well fkd, engine, gearbox and driveline has been shunted about 100mm back in the chassis/car. Shell from the strut towers back will probably be salvagable but thats about it. Actually managed to break one of the seat mounts.

It's really hard being a privateer, then getting shunted like that. I'm sure it would take a lot of money to get another car back up to that one's standard, how much do you love the sport?

Ouch, im sure a chassis straightener will pull that out its doenst appear to look taht bad tho jsut a few external panels (without seeing pics of the rails), im just crying over the new(sih) FMIC setup!

Sorry to see the mess you've made of the SPECC... I'm sure you'll be up and running with another hot Spec C in no time!

Hope so dude, Looking forward to learning a thing or to from you on the track.

Maybe If mines out of the shop Before you get a new set up and your keen to do a few laps we could go for a spin around a track some time towards the end of the year?
