Removing Pulley Nuts

I want to put my 3pce GFB pulley kit on but not sure how to get the nuts off.

Is there a tool you use to stop the whole thing spinning?

I dont wana jam screw drivers into the pulley or nothing, want to do it safe and without damage!

If you leave the belts on and tight u may get them loose by having some sit in the car with the gearbox in 5th and their foot on the brake

Is there a too tight when putting them back on?

Crank pulley should be about 125 nm so pretty tight

I chucked it in gear last time and it came off ok, heaps easier with the engine out when you can bolt something to the flywheel to stop it moving.

Yeah im looking at getting a light weight flywheel, so maybe i could leave it for when i do that

Leave the belts on, car in gear (any gear)and handbrake on then use a strong arm bar on a socket and instead of turning it like you normally would hit the arm bar with the back of a hammer over and over and over.

the pulley will turn but the shock of you hitting the bar will slowly work the bolt out. just remember to let the pulley stop before hitting it again or it will take longer. I have used this method a couple of times and had it work where a rattle gun failed.

Another thing, whats the tight are all the nuts to go?

DRFVDR already said the crank pulley is 125 nm

What about the alternator and power steering ones (i assume they are the other 2 im replacing)

....no where on that thread is how tight things need to be, as you have posted it before and i read it, then didnt find the answer i needed so asked for help.

i know you like to be the class clown, but i'd prefer help then a repost, because i know you can actually be helpful when you want to be

Yeah my old man has a torque wrench so if there were specific torque settings i would prefer that.

But all good if not

I had a look in the FSM and it showed how to pull apart but nothing about putting them back together oh well
