Help?

Pulled in to work this morning... Turned the windscreen heater off then it started making a fucked up clicking noise in one of the vents so i turned it back on and it stopped.

Then turned it off again and it made the noise for a few seconds and stopped. Then my car stalled? What is going on.......

Havnt tried starting her up again as i was already late for work... Any help will be much appreciated.

jesus that's a curly one, I can't think of anything that would make the car stall but I'm sure one of the boys here will know,

does it do it on all the settings of the fan and heater direction ? Mrs parents cars fan blower is on its way out and the motor makes a click some times on low . .

Yeah, mine whirs and grinds at low speeds.

I had it on a low setting with heat... didnt try on other settings... couldnt care less about the heater and all that.... i just want to know what caused my car to stall? I cant think of what would of caused that?

check coolent, maybe just a fluke. maybe you have a leak in the heater coolent hose? just guessing here...

so turning the fan off caused the stall ? that's very strange ? does it still do it ?

Havent had the chance to check again... Will do it at lunch. Hopefully my car was just tripping out and he sorted himself out

Electrical short? A decent enough short (i.e. the time my battery broke free) will cause the engine to stall.

check to see if alternator is charging

Had a look through the engine bay on my lunch break, heaps of coolant and no split hoses or anything, checked oil aswell and all appears to be normal. Started her up and it appears to be running normally? I guess ill keep driving it and see if anything happens. Cheers for all your guys help!

Alarm screwing up? Had mine stop on the motorway. ...Failed alarm relay for the fuel pump....(started clicking 2 weeks before).....Installed by the alarm guy some years ago to immobilise if stolen.

Rubbish in the AC/heater fan?? Two bolts and it drops out.

Interesting... forgot to mention the engine stalled once the turbo timer was activated this morning.. But when i tested at lunch it all appeared to be running fine.. Ill have a play around with it after work and see if the fan makes that funny noise again.

If its the fan it will just be a bit of debris in it...Easy fix......Keep an eye on that alarm/turbo timer......Could be!!Seems some alarms fail after 3 to 4 years....All sorts of electrical/engine indicated issues can be caused by alarms slow failure. Mine was a uniden ...now a WARLOCK.....OK so far

Ive got a top of the range dynatron... Ive got a guy who lives around the corner from me who installs them so ill go ask him to check it out.... I dont think it has anything to do with the alarm.. Got a feeling something caught up in the fan.. But im usualy always wrong haha

Anychance the clicking could be the air conditioning fan coupling. ? i dont know about the stall though

I wouldnt have a clue, its sweet now... it doesnt make any noise hot or cold... and havnt had any more problems with it stalling... So i think at this stage everything is running normal

easy way is to turn the a/c on if its there it is if not dw about my previous question lol ( while the car is running )

I wouldnt have a clue if its there or not... the fan all works properly and all that... but when i press the AC button nothing changes... not even the revs... so im guessing its not lol

Choice was just a thought. have seen it before, real nasty clicking noise of the coupling trying to grab
