Under-manifold intake pipe for 2001 STi

Right... the final piece of my intake puzzle.

What options are out there for an under-manifold intake pipe for this car? I'm currently looking at Perrin and AVO options. I have a Samco one here but I have a sneaky feeling that it's fake so I don't really want to put it on the car.

What's out there?

Assuming you have a v7 sti

I would go with this option as its affordable and alot of people have them and haven't complained about them...

the m&h one didnt fit - thats what ninja8 had issues with if i remember correctly

What kind of intake are you going to be using? Pod filter or factory box? I have seen one (which I was very tempted to get) which you can use for the factory airbox, but not sure about a pod filter (unless you have custom piping)

AVO is the best, as it's one piece all the way to the MAF (less joins = less turbulence), and it's Kevlar reinforced so it won't collapse under high boost. But you'll pay through the nose for one, if you can even find one. Mine cost me $380 new, only one shop in all of Sydney had one (I was in Aussie at the time, I bet they're even harder to get in NZ).

i gave my AVO one away cause i thought i wont be needing cause im going twisted turbo set up

there is one on trade for ver3/4 for $100.00 i might get that if you wont let it got for $75

I should look at that $100 one, depending on how long i intend to keep factory motor in car....it's prob not worth the hassle.

Seriously, it's not a nice hose, 99.9% sure it's fake even though it says Samco all up and down it. You can pull the metal fittings out with your fingers.

They are manufactured like that...if you are fussed on them "coming off" then hose clamps are your best bet
