Southern Skylines Dunedin Dyno day - Fri, 12th Aug

Recommended Posts

Hey all. Decided a while back that Southern Skylines should try our hand at a dyno day, since Skylines Downunder hold a lot of successful ones.

Theres a bit of interest on the Facebook page so far, so will possibly be a case of first in first served on the night!

DATE: Friday, 12th August 2011

TIME: 6:00pm till 10:30pm or later

LOCATION: APET, 86 MacAndrew Rd, Dunedin (turn south from King Edward Street at the intersection where United Video is, and the shop is just after the first street on the right)

COST: $40 for Southern Skylines members, $50 everyone else (normally $80)

OTHER DETAILS:

- Nik and the boys are likely bringing

out for a wee blast (old video). Has to be bolted to the floor now!

- Might give out prizes for some cars if we can find some businesses to support this idea, unsure as for what categories though (highest hp, lowest hp, shiniest wheels etc etc?).

- Please behave yourselves on the night - especially since there is a Police station literally right across the road!

- Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=214530448588112

Hard to know how much advertising to do. Got a feeling we may be doing too much (gonna make a a flyer and print about ten off for around Dunedin) - but if thats the case we'll just have to have another dyno day a month or two later!

All good now Ray, been to a couple last year and they had a fan every time. :)

And yeah, my GTS-4 broke the front straps and came off the dyno. Suffered a wee bit of damage but Nik fixed most of it. Suspension needs replacing anyway, so not too worried.

Here's the vid:

Turns out one or two of the straps were worn - he replaced them the next day and has since got much stronger ones since they have a 1,200hp+ R32 GT-R they are building. Which will hopefully be doing another run if they get the latest add ons done in time.

Lol, The fan came with the dyno so it's ALWAYS had a fan and it's impossible for you to have seen more than 1 car try and come off the dyno. That's because it's only ever happened once and that was with Andrew's car. Lucky only 1 of the 4 straps broke so it still had 3 holding it on.

Andrew's organized a dyno day to help raise money for the SSE club. It's for anyone who wants to know how much power their car has. If you don't want to know then don't put your car on. Simple as that.

Apet, Raydeo meant that you don't have a proper fan for TMICs or the thingy you can deliver air to a TMICs.

and ive only seen Andrew's car came off/broke the strap and then i put my car on the same dyno.

Im looking forwards to this and i believe im putting my car for a read again.

Any prizes ???

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
