More Power!!!

Recommended Posts

Ok so I have the car getting a new engine in a present and want to know if there are any more mods I can do that are bolt on upgrades in power.

I have

-Extractors

-Exhast/Intake to turbo

-Pullys

-FMIC

-Iridam Sparkys

-Fuel Pump

-Tial wastegate

-Link g4

-vf22

Is there anyhitng else anyone can think of? Ive got a V7 STI engine.

The only thing I can think of is Cams and a front facing plenum (dont say turbo because im waiting for sheets before I re evaluate the turbo situation)

get em to wire the anti-lag to a switch while there in there.. u might not use it but its alot o fun ta watch late model v8 drivers faces at the lights when ya hit the switch!!! ;D

Sweet will get mak sure it gets wired up properly then.

Hahahaaha good point would love a bee*r limiter....

the pod filter gets barly any hot air the turbo positioning and sheilding stops the heat spreading

Big bore throttle body

factory can go to 64mm on V7's which is a min 16% increase in flow capability over the factory 60mm unit

Wont need a bee*r if you got a g4 link... you can have launch control and anti lag programed in... BANG BANG

Where do you pick that up from?

I make them as reuqired for members

the 64mm is the same size as the factory interccoler outlet pipe I/D

You will also need to trim the gasket and manifold to suit the big bore throttle body

oh and add a water spray kit controlled by the link..

dunno who has done it here in NZ but have a few mates in AU with water spray kits and by golly they swear by it esp with running higher boost and pump gas..

lol and before u ask - i mean water spray kits for the manifold....

PS. and add the fancy NOS style purge kit... whooa!!!!! ;D

proper show and go 8)

Its already got the V7 STI ones (stock engine) which will flow up a storm hahaha

Water sprayers sounds interesting...

thinking about ordering a front facing plenum and 75mm throttle body... But really interested to see the numbers the engine returns before I got putting the plenum on it.

The V7 engines come stock with forged crank, forged pistons and semi-closed deck block im sure the factory internals can handle quite a bit

the 75mm throttle body is a waste of time on a vfxx turbo $$/ kw

and the v7 manifold can just be flipped round to be front facing so no need to go out buying another one. greg0o0os v7 mani on here flows plenty.. 310kw @ 19psi on a gt3540 & 2.5l block.

the v7 stis can handle a bit more than the earlier ej20x engines, around 240wkw seems to be a reasonable place to stop before you risk ejecting engine components over any reasonable time period. the pink inj will flow up to around that limit, the vfxx turbos in single scroll revision around 220-230wkw tops.

The flow of a those after market intake manifolds is alot more than stock but I do see where you are coming from as the turbo wont have enough steam.

I cant wait for it to be finished so I can post dyno sheets and see the outcome

note gregs results above, they flow just fine, and he'l see 350 on the factory manifold simply by upping the boost on that gt3540.

It would like a lot to outflow the factory manifold. $$$ for kw its a waste of time frankly.

fwiw my own v3 factory manifold is flowing enough for 295wkw on a 2.0 motor and gt3071r.

Yeah i realise that $$$ for KW is crap but im keen on moving that big arse power curve forward and get rid of the LAG..

Dyno tuner is Terapa Automotive's Ollie and tuning on a torque dynometer

Hopefully get more than a 30KW gain

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
