sti guard rub

99 sti with the pink sti spring/shocks, i have 215-40-17s and every now and then it rubs in the rear, just a simple guard roll fix this? does it with no one in the back but only when full boost and it squats down or around a sharp corner

i'm tempted to say yes, but having never done it, just hearing other's stories, i'm probably not the best source of reliable info there...

no idea if there buggered, they seem fairly hard

guard rolling is good

as long as its done properly you dont want to crack your paint.

I would get,alignment checked

also what has been changed from tha factory setup as it would not of rubbed from new, then work back from there

scraping on the same side as fuel filler? i've had rub on the inside plastic on that side cause the filler makes the plastic lower.

yes it is that size, will check 2moro for marks on the plastic

your car been lowered or had the springs cut? I had similar tyres that would rub on my lowered sti but just barely so woulda thought they fitted without rubbing. just a thought.

Might pay to take to shock shop an have them checked out

rim off set is what determins guard rub... roll / flare guards and problem solved

it may do BUT you should still figure out why it is rubbing first,as it could be a symptom of a serious issue.

yup sold the wagon xmas eve.that was a ver6, i got a ver5 sedan on saturday, has the sligest rub on drivers side rear

think ill get that side rolled 1st and see what they say, dont think anywhere in town does it tho,same with the shocks they would probly have too be sent away

rims arent factory... probably a greater offset which gives rub...

Roll them problem solved, but do as DRFVDR says and chave a quick check, if its jsut catching the outer wall of the tyre it will jsut need a roll...

well its the next thing on the list 2 be done, checkd the inside of rim when washing the car 2day it had PCD 100, im piking thats just the 5x100, what should the offset be? will remove a rim after work
