Anyone heard of this tyre brand?

Recommended Posts

I only came across the brand for the first time tonight. Your little signature talks aboit feet and an open mouth. Mine is soon to read, smart arses that dont realise its after 11pm on a weekend and as such tyre shops are closed, are likely to get a smack upside the head.

Where did you hear of them and why the interest in a brand that not alot of people may have heard of. But im sure someone on here may have fitted them, maybe they will read this tomorrow at a more convenient time and answer your original request. I honestly look forward to hearing how they perform.

Good luck and i wish you all the best

No one's asking for any performance, just a simple yes or no. I came across someone selling a set of them on trademe for a reasonable price and thought i'd see if anyone on here knew of them. I'm well aware there are plenty of good, cheap tyres but when something new comes along i ask questions. Must say though i didn't realise this many people were on the rag at rhe same time ;)

$300 starting price for full set. They may go for more than that but who knows? Found one place online selling them for a little over $200 a tyre. Looking for tyres for our car here in dunners but apparently all the tyre dealers are huge fans of anal, cos every shop i walk out of i always feel like I've been butt raped :o

lol

they seem ok. i guess the only way to find out would be to try them .For 300$ if they are no good you may lose say 50$ after reselling them, but if they are all good you score a mean set of tyres at a bloody good price. I bought a set of tyres 3 months ago and it cost a testicle and a kidney.

i had a set of pirellis on my V8 sti and they apparently cost fk loads but they are the worst tyre ive ever driven on,needless to say they got the arse for a set of Falken 452'S.

Which kinda contradicts the whole price of tyres debate when referring to the maxtrek versus pirelli or any other tyre.

That's exactly right, i don't think most drivers would ever get a set of tyres anywhere near their limit so is it really worth forking out tons for a supposedly good set of tyres? The last set we put on came close to a grand and i thought they were awesome, just don't ha e a grand to spare at the moment thanks to a recent very expensive shopping spree for baby gear :-\

By that rationale why buy a Blitzen instead of a standard Legacy ?

You're never going to use the extra performance...

;D

Tyres are one area where skimping can be disastrous.

A good tyre will show it's qualities well below 10/10ths.

What's on your car now ?

$300/set is incredibly cheap but generally you get what you pay for (except those $$$ Pirellis, maybe misapplication instead of being a crap tyre).

Got yokohama a drive r1's on the car and would love to get them again but the price of them here in dunners is ridiculous. I may actually have organised a set of pre loved yokohama s drives with about 5mm of tread left. They're a good tyre and will do until i can afford a new set in a while. The baby shopping spree hit the bank balance hard. I'll probably look at getting set of the eagle f1 gsd3's or the tyre that's replacing them, the directional 5's.

As for the extra peformance of the Blitzen? Its quite funny cos some people think they make more power than a standard b4 thanks to a different ecu tune and bigger secondary turbo running higher boost. Others though, say it was purely a cosmetic enhancement. Who knows, all i kow is its quick, fun and not too bad on gas.

Read again...

"...Blitzen instead of a standard Legacy"

;)

Blitzen has cosmetics by Porsche Design, it was the STI models (S401/402) that got extra performance over a B4/GT.

The Yokos are a decent enough tyre.

A used set is probably still a better bet than a new set of Chinese takeaway tyres.

;D
