Mags Re-Sprayed

Hi,

Im going to get them powder coated by chulozumo. Also checking how much it will costs to soda blast them. If its a lot i will sand them myself and happily pay to use some of that paint stripper thanks. Also i was wondering if anyone had some axel stands i could borrow to jack the car up? Would be very grateful.

Thanks.

Soda blasting is pretty cheap, rang up a few months ago, $50 for a full set or brake calipers, 2x intake manifolds and a bunch of other stuff. havnt actually done it yet though.

Sand blasting my wheels cost me $100 up at steam and sand in kenepuru a year ago.

Want to try soda blasting now though as its non abrasive.

Is anyone else wanting things stripped/coated by me ? Can try an arrange to do everything at once .

Be very careful powder coating forged alloys like BBS...

They don't take kindly to mis-application of heat.

We will never do them again. Weve had two cases with them,

1. Worker tried to strip them in acid, left them in there for a day. came back and they were gone!

2. Brothers friend wanted his forged wheels done regardless of what he was told, put them on the car drove down the road, nek minit, snapped the spokes clean off, f***** the axle which then went into the wall/gaurd LOL. he then tried to blame my brother.

I also emailed Rays / Volk wheels or what ever about it 6 months ago, asking what they do/ weather its painted or powder coated / what they would recommend. Buttt they never got back to me D:

Hey X, is Jamie the one that does the coating? or does he get them done by some one else? Any clue as to where he works/ gets them done? Will probably know them...

Yes, that point has been raised many times before. Personally, I would err on the side of caution and get forged monoblock wheels painted rather than powder coated.

But that's just me.

Yep. His wheels hasn't fallen off yet. Jamie is a engineer and know s*** loads about metals. Don't think he's stupid enough to do it to wheel without looking into it before hand

But then I witness another engineer shaving off 2kg of a factory flywheel which we all laugh about. But it seems to work for the owner and seem to be going ok

That's pretty useless of them.

BBS generally powder coat their cast wheels and paint their forged ones.

Sometimes they are stamped "forged", often on the inside :(

Otherwise try contacting the distributor or manufacturer ?

Unless its some shonky outfit like Rays above who b=never replay.

:P

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
