Miss at 5000revs on boost

finally got my car running mint!! with new afm new fuel pump!!

but noticed today when driving at 80kmph then boosting to 100kmph it was pulling nicly till 5000revs where it had a miss.

now it will drive off boost without missing.

no check engine light.

im thinking crank angle sensor maybe.

take it to someone who can check the fault codes properly, subie mechanic or alot of auto sparkies can do it these days. Just cos you didn't see the engine check light doesn't mean theres no fault codes logged

i dont boost that very often but its done it twice now.

my car comes onto boost fine. just in the higher revs

my car feels like dogs ass when cold fukin struggles on the hill out of my street but obviously i dont boost at all when cold.

im thinking they may all be the same issue.

Did you reset ECU after changing your AFM?

Yeah i had the battery disconnected for a few hours as i did my fuel pump

how long would i need 2 disconnect the battery for a reset? only way ive done resets is with the plugs under dash together etc

How are the plugs/gaps??? Losing spark under boost???

Plugs were only done very recently.

Just to add the car can be quite jerky when i lightly accelerate.

Shakey as hell when warming up

maybe they put the wrong gapped plugs in, pull them out and regap to 0.8mm

mine were gaped at 1.1mm and then got the 0.8mm plugs put in and made no difference, but worth a try, every car is different

yeah made no diffrence all 4 were 0.8...will go see my mechanic tomorow see what he thinks

Try 0.7 gap and see if sorts it out

Factory spec is 0.7-8

Also a scanner will indicate if there are Any faults registered especially if it's been missing on any cylinder

Possible coils as well

Does it do this when hot as well?

Does it boost ok past 5000 mark all the way to redline?

Ecu will not reset with battery off in these v7

Need to manually reset it

In any case it will automatically pick up if the afm has been changed

Ur mechanic can reset it with scanning tool while checking for any Exsisting codes

Depending on what area I can scan/reset as well if u want

dunno once i felt the miss i backed off so i wouldnt know

i only boost when warm so thats really all id know im just saying the car is jerky as hell when cold

other than this driving is mint!!

is a full reset connecting the black and the green connectors?

The only sure shot method of reset I have always done is via the obd scanner setup

U can try the green black plugs - unsure how well that works tho

A scan at Subaru will cost you about $80...you might be able to get it for $65 if you ask nicely. Sorts alot of stuff out. Found a couple probs on mine ive now sorted that I didnt know existed.
