ah dang..hopefully can get it when ur mate comes over next ya

what u end up putting on?

abt scan - yea sometimes it logs a code but does not always flash a cel

maybe the ecu has a list of non cel flas codes i suppose

I had spoken to him abuot it last night and I got up early before he left but morning haze maybe? Forgot about it before he left. Ill see if I have to come up this week and ill throw it in the ute.

I got an HKS off marc but the muffler has blown its guts out so thats a good waste of money too!

ok just got home from the mechanic

obdII hooked up nothing at all on there so he cleared the codes (was told that was the same as a reset) im guessing its not

back to the drawing board

my next plan is to change all the plugs

you dont need to change the plugs if they're only new, just get some feeler guages and regap them to the correct size

If its copper plugs then they probably past their use by date - bkr6e or bkr7e (depending on boost and how u drive it) work well and are cheap - good for 5-10k before they start to break down - cheap as only 28 for all 4 at retail price - come factory gapped to .8 unless stated as bkr6e-11 (that's 1.1 mm gap)

I had same issue. Tired cleaning air flow meter, new fuel filter and coil pack then found that it was a plug.

I put these NGK PFR6B plugs in. Factory gapped at 0.8. Have worked wonders! Your looking at around $30 per plug, but well worth spending the money.

Fortyone, a sponsor here, sold me a set for $70 :)

Like all plug conversations - it depends on the owner - if you feel like changing your plugs more often go for coppers - copper is a better conductor than platinum or irididium - platinum and iridium do last longer that's all - its not a bright idea to change plugs to the longer lasting ones and just forget about them

Plugs tell a story - they're the window to your engine - no shit quoted from mr rick himself

stock v7 is 7 ngk

but using 6 or 7 really wont be of any difference if ur still on a stock tune and turbo

as long as the plug gap is 0.7-0.8 thats the more important bit for now

as been stated before ...just gap it correctly ya - also could just be a cracked insulater on the plug that can also cause miss issues on higher rev/boost

and if its not plug then could be coil

a mate had a similar issue and turned out to be 1 coil which we replaced yesterday - works sweet now

\usually ecu will log it as well - depending on what sorta scanner u use as i believe not all will read hidden codes (or so i been told)

have u made sure all ur boost hoses are tight and bov tight etc

a leajk can also cause surging that can feel like a missfire once boost builds up..i had that when my fmic piping silicone was slightly loose..only missed/surged after 5000rpm ..

that is a free fix so check all hoses

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
