Check you codes

:edit: what he means is, have a search on the forum for the process to check for CEL's if you dont know how., and report back what the codes are you're getting.

Its really easy to check and diagnose yourself, then we can help you with what the fix might be.

+1 for the o2 sensor. I have a be5 and the mrs has a bh5 and to check the codes you need to look under the dash on the drivers side and there should be two sets of plugs disconnected, a green set and a black set. With the car off connect the two green plugs together and then turn your ignition to on but do NOT start the car. The CEL (check engine light) should start blinking. It should do a series of long flashes and then a series of short ones depending on the codes at the time. The long flashes are the x10 ie so 6 flashes would mean 60 and then if there were 6 fast flashes after that it would mean 66. There's plenty of lists on the net of what error codes mean what but for o2 sensor it should be something like code 32 if I'm not mistaken.

The o2 sensor went in my b4 and had the symptoms you've said

Don't mean to mention the obvious, but hows your air filter?

I previously has all sorts of issues with bogging and surging in my RSB, and had a crappy supercheap paper filter in the factory airbox. It looked clean, but had about 50k on it. Swapped it out for a factory paper filter from Subaru and it has totally transformed the car. No bogging, no surging. Better economy and more power across the range.

hey guys i have a similar problem with my GTB running a ej20 with twin turbo setup. i have had these issues for a long time and have replaced the O2 sensor, have had the auto gearbox refurbished about 15000kms ago. i have found the two green plugs under the dash and connected them to try find the error codes but the check engine light doesnt flash but there is a clicking sound coming from the engine bay on and off when usually the check engine light is on when i drive. any ideas?

ok done that and its relaying a code of 22. from my research and if you guys can confirm is the knock sensor. is that hard to replace and how much would it roughly cost?

Ok, thought I'd dredge this thead up :)

Even though I wasn't getting the check engine light coming up, I hooked up the plugs and got a 21 - Coolant Temperature Sensor. I scored a 2 pin one and then realised I needed a 3 pin...DOH! Anyway, I replaced that and flushed\new coolant. Also put new plugs and air filter in and car is running sweet. Just thought I'd update in case anyone is having similair issues.

how much is a new o2 sensor anyway? last time i was checking codes i was getting knock sensor and o2 sensor, replaced the knock sensor.

i dont really notice the car being that slow, but i don't have anything to compare it with. might just replace it anyway..

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
