flywheel machining

Does anyone know where to get a flywheel macined in Wellington?

OR I will swap a lightened racing flywheel for a good condition standard one that is in good nick and doesnt need to be machined.

Should always get your flywheel machined! And if your out porirua ways there is a clutch specialist I got mine done at next to Midas and across the way from packnsave

I had mine done at MPAuto in Upper Hutt. They did a good job with it imo

One of my neighbours has his 4wd signwritten for some automotive machining place... I'll have a look next time I see it.

sometimes clutch specialists if you by a new clutch kit they will get it skimmed for free if thats any help

I just checked the packaging in my Exedy clutch. Apparantely not machining flywheel voids the warranty on the clutch. I'll bet not many know that.

We normally use MP Autos in Upper Hutt too, just under $50 - so that seems to be the average price

think you'll find that with every new clutch kit. if they dont tell you it will be in fine print somewhere.

No.

They sell s/hand sh1tty rebuilt clutches using s/hand parts ($550) - don't even last a year (normal driving); and re-kit brake calipers to a crap standard - I had to redo them myself - as they leaked. And they charged $70 a caliper for labor.

I'm not the only one that's had issues dealing with Greg too.... I'd actually consider their service piss-poor; in general.

Needless to say I no longer deal with them. Aside from flywheel skimming - even then it's Jamie that takes them in.

Nah.

Jamie's been dealing with them thru his work (REL) for many, many years..... and they still supply poorly manufactured items - obviously Greg hasn't improved on his customer service.

A lot of us with Subaru's have used his clutches over the years, and can verify their crappiness.

Since then; I've used Exedy and Subaru repackaged (exedy) clutches. Even doing motorsports/auto-x/skids/donuts.... etc. They have stood up to the test.

The new 6spd Exedy cost me $555 - so at that price, why not go new!
