6 speed neutral safety switch bypass

My mates v7 STI is playing up.. We have come to the conclusion that it is the neutral safety switch, he has call winger and they have to come out of Japan so...

Is there anyone out there who knows of any way to bypass the switch? Or no of any thing else that the problem could be, the car feels gutless up in the high rev range and dosnt boost correctly anymore...

I'm not aware of any 'neutral safety switch', can you confirm what function this serves? I know of a Neutral Switch, which simply tells the ECU whether or not it is in neutral, shouldn't have any effect on performance as it mainly affects idle control tables.

When was the last time the sparkplugs were changed and the MAF sensor checked?

Are you in Auckland? I can run a diagnostic on the car for you if you are and confirm if any of these are behaving incorrectly.

These have a neutral safety switch? And how would that affect it being gutless/not boosting? Are you sure it's not just in limp mode?

The neutral switch affects the AVCS, it is disabled in neutral, which could cause performance issues. My V8 Sti was having an issue with the power delivery feeling rough, did some datalogging and could see the AVCS dropping out randomly. Tracked it down to the neutral switch faulty. Bypassed it and solved the AVCS issue. Dunno if this is the prob you're having though.

sounds near to it Dimin. If it affects AVCS if definitely will make it run wrong.

I thought to myself yesterday thinking about this problem, i bet the people trouble shooting above aren't 100% on what effect a faulty neutral switch has on tune if your cruising and ecu thinks its in neutral.

to the OP - i see gotasuby is selling some 6speed bits and a center diff - maybe he has a neutral switch from one that saves an overnight part from japan delivered on harry's tab.

      Afternoon team,
      im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket. 
      Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.
