On the hunt for an engine

Hey guys,

My TS-R has run a bearing, or something else horrific has happened to it, and I need to get it running by the 26th at the very latest.

I'm on the hunt for a non turbo engine, either complete or long block only. Either a 2.0 or 2.5 would suit

If anyone knows of one for sale please let me know

Oh and while you may find cheaper, you won't find anyone else who is as prepared to stand behind their product. I'm sure you read the thread

I think tsr motors are around 500 complete can't remember, About time that motor went pop with the trashing you do

Id be pretty happy with 500 complete. Yeah its hardly come as a surprise, it's taken 30000ks of my abuse, but I'm still annoyed that my justification for owning a non turbo has now gone out the window lol

Just been on the phone to Gerald, the TS-R EJ20D engines are more like 800 complete, but I can get an EJ20E (single cam instead of the quad cam) for half the price

Anyone know what the single cam EJ20's go like? Apparently pretty similar to the quad cam ones?

Getting someone to check the car out this week to confirm its a prob with the bottom end and not a head issue. If its definitely a bottom end issue, which I'm pretty sure it is, I might just buy a short block and swap everything over

dont go SOHC!! for the love of god...

also sometimes if you have a bearing go the piston can kiss the head(s) so ruins one of those also.. not always but yer

The 20e's do go alright I put one into my brothers 250t couldn't tell much of a difference between them Really

An EJ20E with appropriate exhaust and a black-label 7R (v3) ECU will be a lot of fun. The green-label (v4) ones are awful though. They're not an amazingly powerful engine but if you set the car up right it will still go fine

You will never blow an EJ20E up without draining the oil or water. I can say that with certainty. They are non-interference

Pretty much sorted another twin cam engine to go in in a couple of weeks time
