servicing costs, please post, the more the better

Hey all

I am trying to gather info on running costs for sti's (just sti's at this stage not wrxs)

Can anyone who owns(d) one please post simply with their cost of any servicing and mechanical repairs with how much it cost* and what parts* were replaced/repaired.

anything from simple oil change to brake disks to cambelts and clutches and full on rebuilds

Please do post as the more the better.

I have a GD STi and an oil change costs $55 for oil, $22 for oil filter, $2 (or less) for crush washer and $0 for labour as I do it myself. Every 5,000km's or so.

ELF Competition oil and Subaru genuine filter.

Nothing else on the car has required replacing in 10,000km's. But then you might roll the dice and have something go bang 5 mins after purchase

Workshop repairs only and if possible specify genuine or aftermarket parts

55 for elf is cheap mate I get it for 49 at trade price

Id say most people here who aren't under mech warranty would do servicing themselves, not cam belts etc though

I have both for a '01 GD.

I'll have a look in my receipts folder tonight, although I think the service was around $350 with Motul oil, Subaru filter and I think the fuel filter got done at the same time.

Now I get all my servicing done by a friend for about $10 + oil/filter cost. He just takes it to his workshop and does it on the hoist while I wait as jacking up a low low Subaru is a pain in the rear and I CBF dealing with the left-over oil etc.

Wiper blades $20 inc gst

Got cambelt, water pump, tensioners done for $760ish by my mechanic. (Gives me decent discounts though)

See if this gives you an idea what you might be looking at for each level of service.

$130 from a local garage for oil/filter/washers etc, or $70 diy. castol 10w-40, $90 for 5w-30 (garage $150)

$500 from a garage, for oil+coolant+sparkplugs+Brake+Labour costs,

or $80 coolant(oem), + $70-90 for oil&filter(oem) +$40 for sparkplugs(oem)+$60 fuel filter(oem)+$50 +Brake oil $40castol super 4dot (DIY)

200,000k service only, not including rocker cover gaskets, circa $1900 from winger.

can do it for less than half if you know people, or have a friendly mechanic
