Subaru outer cv joint

Ohkae, so ive done almost everything under the sun with subarus, but never a cv joint, any specialist tools i need to complete fitting a new one?

I need to do one on mine, should really get this sorted haha. I think you need a puller thats about it

First attempt.... Failure, torque bar not enough for wheel nut, self note, find a rattle gun haha

I take it you knocked out the recessed/dented part of nut first?

And if it didn't work, just get a bigger bar. I have a piece of Dexion racking brace (like from warehouse and supermarket shelving) that I slip over the handle of a 1/2" drive. A 1.3 meter power bar is great for cracking those nuts.

hehe gota get me a pipe for something like that, 1.3m puts my 600mm bar to shame

If your in Hamilton I have a slide hammer type puller that I made for doing CV joints!

No lol, napier... ive gotta do the cv before i come up to hampton downs next weekend for drift champs haha

It\'s easy peesy lemon squeezy once you get the cv boot off its just a matter of taking off two circlips and your done. All you need once you have undone your hub nut a d taken out you drive shaft is a flat screw driver and those pliers that take out those circlips with the small holes on the end. Might do a how to if I get a chance today.
