but 225/45/17 will fit on a 7" rim, as will a 215 fit on a 7.5" rim..

or even a 215/40/18 on an 18 * 8" rim like mine - Rubberband look!!

Just to confuse the matter...

(and my 205/40/17 R888's fit on a 7.5" rim)

confused much?

verbal diarrhoea much?

i think the rims i have are 7.5 inch.. thinking if will fit on that...

255/45/17 are bloody wide for one thing...lol..

on a lowered v7, the 235/40/18 i had once wud rub on the back.. under hard connering or with load on the back

i dont think it would happen on a non lowered setup.... ???

yea bro..the size recomended is 8-9inch rim for 255/45/17 tire

question tho - will it fit on a 7.5 inch rim? what are the implications...

lol.. i have heard of stretching the rubber over wider rims but what of wider rubber on thinner rims

(the rim on which i want to put it may be 8 but i have a feeling its most likely 7.5)

i think it could be to wide and make it handle worst? as the tire would kinda roll id assume?

yea the 235 rub on mine and was going to swap them for some smaller tires when they needed new tyres haha guess thats not going to happen now :'( think my car is sold :'(

I think your handling would be sh1t house with a 255/45 on a 7.5.

255mm is 10 inches. So the tyre is 64mm wider than the wheel and would stick out 32mm on each side... on

truck tyre not so bad... on a 45% tyre? CRAP.

Personally, 255s are even a bit wide for 8 inch rim width, you would want 8.5 inch wide at the very minimum. They get too "balloony" on anything smaller IMO.

There is no point having a tyre that wide if you dont have the rim width to back it up, you wouldnt be doing your handling any favours.

if your talking about my old rims, yea there 7.5 haha

yup was thinking of putting them on your rims all right...

oh sucks...why did i even buy 255/45/17 tires in the first place...grrr.. the unknown forces of life at play...

anyone wana buy a set on 255/45/17 tires - decent tread..

PS. outta curiosity, will the balloned up tires be ok for normal road driving - non performance style of course..

not going in my wrx but on a mazda lol

i think you would get alot of tyre roll? would look kinda wierd to lol? how much would it be for some 8.5" rims?

who knows how much they will be but dont think will be getting any 8.5 inch rims no more..

lol.. wud rather sell the tires...

or make do with a bit of roll..haha

255/45R17 should be fitted to a 9 inch or 9.5 inch rim...

Good luck getting those under the guards...

Rule of thumb: 215 - 7 inch, 225 - 7.5 inch, 235 - 8 inch...

That is to get similar fitting to factory...

I did run 235/45R17's on my factory 7.5's with no problems, but the 8's are a way better fit.

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
