any one make speaker adapters for subaru's so you can have 6.5" in the doors?

Pretty much any car audio place worth a shit will have some. It\'s just an MDF ring and you get a bit crazy with some self-tappers and maybe some silicon sealent, nek minnit 6.5s.

They will have iiiiissssuuueeesss with the window mechanism though.

I just replaced the stock speakers in my GC8 with Pioneer 6.5" speakers.

Literally took out the stock speaker/spacer (its one piece) and then proceeded to cut out the old speaker.

I then screwed my new 6.5" speaker into the original spacer and WHAM it worked!

Yep that will work with a majority of standard 16cm speakers, as long as the magnets aren\'t too large. If they are, then you will need to attack the weather guard bit with a hacksaw and cut it off to make room.

If your speakers are bigger than 16cm, then you may not have as much luck.

or try someone with some spare MDF, doesn\'t have to perfect round etc...

In fact it can\'t be perfect round... it needs to be more triangular in shape, being flatter at the bottom to clear the door card.

Hyper Drive had some MDF spacers, Subaru specific - not just round rings (they still required a bit of trimming).

I just put some spacers in localised areas ie the screw holes for the l arge magnet speakers.

Worked fine.

Couldnt be bother with the template idea.

PS these look like they are for BH Legacy doors? They are a different shape to GC/GF Impreza\'s & BG Legacy\'s
