How do the 2 engine fans work on a gc8

Hey im just wondering what the info is on how the 2 fans work for gc8

obviously one is for a/c on the passenger side and work when its turned on,what does the other fan run off on the drivers side?temp sensor?

one is engine coolant and comes on at about 95? degs water temp, and turns off at 85? perhaps.. i cant remember exactly what the factory ecu designation is.

So if the other fan was to run fulltime by itself even on cold start this would be a sensor issue?not talking bout the ac fan,

yes i would pick you have a sensor fault,

dont take this as crystal, as i may be talking out my arse, but somewhere in my memory i think ive heard of them somehow being configured backwards, cant remember how / why.

that is they run when cold, then turn off when >85 degs... = REAL dumb.

but refer to above where potentially talking out my arse.

So say it was temp sensor that is faulty and reading over 95 all the time

This would cause the drivers side fan to run constantly

yes that would one cause of continuous running of fans.

they are both 2 speed aswell so there something must trigger "full power" on both aswell

Passengers (sitting in drivers seat) is A/C correct?

If your looking at the engine its the left fan,

Prty much with the relay in,the fan will start running with one click of the key/the ac isnt even turned on the ignition,and its only one of the fans that are spining (the non ac fan)

Pretty sure there\'s a handful of faults that will cause the fans to just run full-tilt all the time - it\'s the ECUs fail-safe mode.

Checked codes and reset ecu no codes

As soon as i put the relay back in to its spot in the fuse box the fan start running straight away

The search key has gone abit weird,il search something and it seems to come up with all sorts of stuff that has nothing todo with what iv searched

If you can point me in the right direction that\'ll be mint,

My mate just point out somthing,it cant be temp sensor as the fan runs without a/c even turned on,on the ignition,

The relays seen fine to me iv swapped them around and still same thing

Btw my ac doesnt work at all now,it used to before this happnd

-also not I just noticed the demister symbol is no longer coming up on the dash cluster,used to work fine intil all this?

ok very random.the old relay i thought was buggered turns out to be fine,

reinstalled it,gave it another ecu reset and now the aircon is working and the fan has stoped running?

im very confused lol! ??? ??? ???
