M&H Hose Kits (STA) - any reviews?

I got a split hose off the header tank on Sunday and had to run with the raceday fix, ie; tape. Has anyone used or have any experience with this kit?

I figure I may as well replace the lot as they are all ~240,000km old. Alternatively I could go and get all OEM replacements but I\'m *guessing* $135 is not going to cover that.

yea I got one of those kits, never had an issue, but only ever did long distance or round town driving, nothing boostin for long periods like on a track

you will have to cut bits n bobs but its a no brainer.. sharp Stanley knife and its all good

Yep have used them before with no issues. However, there is one hose which you don\'t want to use, it replaces a hose with a factory one-way valve in it.

I have a pic of the offending one, I\'ll post it once I find it

It\'s a vacuum hose so you can take it off and check it, see if it does have the valve in it or not.

It was actually in my old Spec C that it had the valve, so the V3/4 may or may not also have it.

Like a pcv valve?

My hose as in pic above has a hard valve in it. I imagine you could blow through it to check it? My V5 and V7 manis both just have a hosetail in the mani with no valve in it. Not hard to check.

Yep that\'s what I did... was tasty haha

IT is NOT the hose shown that has the non return valve inside.

It is the first rubber pipe from the brake booster that has it.......On the other end of the steel pipe to that shown, Located on the other side (drivers side) of the car.

ALL subarus have it there! ;D ;D

And YES... Make sure its there! ESP turbo cars!

Incorrect. Version 7 and up have it in that hose. Paul\'s 7, my 8 and a friends 9 all had the one way valve in that hose.

Just to clarify, this is a water hose kit, and you guys are talking about vacuum pipes? Or am I missing something.

Yep those are vacuum pipes they are talking about.

I\'m using the radiator hoses and the two hoses from the alloy header tank on my racecar with no issues for the last couple of years.

I recently had a complete kit fitted to my EJ207 GC8 and am pretty happy with the results. They\'re nice and strong and I\'m sure they\'d outlast the OEM hoses. I paid $190 for the set, so 135 is pretty good.

So I put six of the eight on today. No dramas - had to trim most of them a little as gazzy said.

Spot the raceday fix - got me through a week of commuting too

how much rusty shit came out of the radiator and block?

About an hours worth of continuous hose flushing. And this after a giant solid wad of the stuff came out of one of the end tanks a few months ago.

If anyone is interested, Subaru currently use Motul Inugel Expert Ultra. They don\'t sell premix anymore. It is ~$25 a litre from them, so I\'ll be going straight to a Motul dealer next time. The car is almost entirely Motul now; I should get sponsorship
