Exhaust wrap?

Last wrap I used was shit went hard and fell apart but think it was 550deg stuff which might have something to do with it. Who has found what awesome at a decent price?

from stuff ive seen its all not that flash.

i replaced some of that titanium heat wrap with new because it turned crap. that was the expensive stuff to i think.

also my stuff turned to crap real fast

thinking it might be better to outlay the exrat cost of hpc coating vs replacing wrap.

bit that pisses me off is when ya buy black wrap it should dam well stay black lol

I just want to wrap up and downpipe headers will be sweet. HPC looks mint but too many $$$. See a lot of lavarock or whatever stuff is around now Im picking temp is the biggie tho. See 1100-1200deg wrap on tm and sta might roll with something that specish and see how it goes.

Anyone used tm stuff they would recommend?

I\'ve used stuff from prowholesale (club sponser) the downpipe on my foz has lasted 40,000kms and the one on my race car is still on after 3 years and 20 odd events. it wasn\'t expensive stuff, just the black stuff they sell (which hasn\'t stayed black but who really cares)

i think soaking it and stretching it on as much as possible helps it stay on longer, and use a shit load of steel ties!

We have been using the lava rock heat wrap from Pro Wholesale lately and its really good. Havent had any issues with it on any of the cars we have done. Good price too

+1 lava rock wrap I have it on my car, but the garage have used it on plenty of the cars they build and it\'s good stuff.

I try not to spend oodles of $$$. If the cheaper one will do the trick its what Im after. Just want to do it before I get tuned - list is so small now... :-[

The soaking in water is only to keep the Dust minimal afaik? Itchy Sh*t.

Go overboard on Ties, they\'re much cheaper than Replacement Wrap. They will stop the Wrap from Unravelling/Fraying/Sliding/Edges Blowing open etc. Even Double Tie both Ends.

Wrap as tight as you can with out tearing it, you can hear the Fibres Breaking/Tearing if you go to far on it. This stops the Wrap moving/sliding even more. Also makes it much more efficient insulation. When loose, heat can escape through the Fibres and overlaps.

Mine was wrapped as tight as a sparkler bomb just to low temp so went hard and crumbled.

i have some 1000 deg one with me, you can grab it when you drop the gearbox off. i used a little bit of it in mates car.

EGT of 900ish seems about max for what tuners want.
