numb steering, wobbly handling, feeble brakes...

don\'t know why anyone would bother with these.

As expected from a standard wrx as opposed to an sti tho? Price is why one would bother. You could throw decent pads, reflash and exhaust in it and be 180wkw and under 20k. Altho nice, BL/BP are getting way to common for me to want one.

S-GT was a WRX for softcock boulevarders...

:P

It wasn\'t until the MY11 facelift that a GR was worthy of the WRX name again.

Yes, you could throw money at it or do as Boon suggests - buy a v7 or maybe even a v8 STI.

20k would get you a V7 STI with awesome handling mods, 230wkw and a way more enjoyable driving experience.

With a very ugly arse. Something looks kinky about the V7 wags in a bad way and theyre over 10yo now. V8 wag is mint but no sti anyway. Just seen these and went damn theyre cheap for what they are.

If I bought something like this it would be to not play with it just a casual reflash and breathing mods. Maybe swaybar if required. Comfortable/air con/economy etc.

I agree with you just horses for courses and all. My current wrx is mint to travel in can take a long drive and not feel it at all whereas old libero with button clutch etc just asked to be raped everywhere which makes it harder to cruise in.

My v7 cost about half the quoted $20k and is pushing out bloody close to 230kw as a daily driver...

In saying that, even though the v7s were a massive step in refinement over the gc8\'s, the v8 and 9 are just that little bit nicer again

I think the sweet spot in wrx is V4-6 they have the best interior. Not like the junky plasticy stuff that started 2000- in most cars. My foz and present both have a functional well proportioned interior. V7- have circle vents which look weird but nice seats and the curves in the S-GT dash look a bit tard. Driving experience goes out the window with anything post 2000 old school wrx/evo 123 are where its at for the ultimate buzz imo rather than techo active yaw/traction control biz of late.

Anyways if I wanted 230wkw wouldnt I stick with what I have? More nimble and better p/w...and if I spent another 10k on it it would be a tad quicker than a V7 sti with the balance spent on it.

Going by what Brendan said its pretty much what I expected. Rather the missus wanted one of these than an Audi and I was more just curious as to why these appear a mint car at a sharp price and different to all the BL/BP running around that seem more common than altezzas.

Good to know, I have been looking at the hatch shape as a possibility for a little while but might scrap the idea. Theres something about the shape I like but I\'m a big fan of the rawness of the GC8, doubt the Hatch would suit me reading that :/

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
