Replacing clutch - what else should be done?

So I'm looking at a clutch replacement in a vehicle I might be buying, so I'm wanting to know what else should be looked at / done / upgraded at the same time? This is on a 6MT clutch in a 2005 STi.

I already know of the rear main seal, and also been advised to do gearbox / transmission oil. I'm thinking more along the lines of bushes, linkages etc. Vehicle has 150,000km's on the body.

Do the kidneyplate as well if it hasn't already got an aluminium one. Being a 2005 it may or may not already.

Don't forget the pinion bearing.

Oh kidney plate, that's right, yep will get that done if required.

And yes the shifter bushings are what I was thinking of, but I was wondering if they could be done at any time, or easier being done while gearbox is apart?

Much easier done while gearbox is out.

With gearbox out you will have plenty of room to bolt in a gtx3071...add that to the list.

So apparently the clutch in me GTB is on its way out, have noticed some slippage booting it in 3rd and 4th when teh lolzy booooost arrives, bugger!

Anyway, other than rear main seal + shifter bushings, and possibly the kidney plate (not sure if a rev-c GTB has the plastic one?), anything else that should be done whilst the gearbox is oot?

And anyone got any recommendations/ super deals for clutches this week?

Oil seals on the tranny itself might be worth doing if you plan to drive the car for several years.

How hard is the front one to replace?

Requires the gearbox housing to be opened, but doesn't seem to require complete disassembly.

Haven't yet done one personally.

Yeah that looks like way to much work in the time I have, unless its actually leaking, which I don't think it is as the oil level has not changed in the gearbox in the time I've had the car.

Does anyone have an alloy kidney plate for an EJ208 lying around?

Rev C EJ208 should already have an alloy kidney plate.
