I picked up an Exedy FF01 5.7kg flywheel a couple years ago for $450 iirc and its been going good so far

I got mine from Exedy NZ Ltd - 151 Wairau Rd. Unsure what they can do for you but could be worth a call.

Really depends on the individual and what you want at the end of the day... what’s the reason your looking at Lightweight in the first place, what’s the car used for, do you commute every day in stop go traffic?

Personally i really liked what it did for my car, just brought it so much more alive imo along with a noticeable change in power delivery. In stop go traffic it does take the joy away rather quick however… although i still don’t mind but yea i can understand why one would hate it… if I had to commute everyday in stop go traffic I wouldn’t recommend it tbh.. also you will find yourself riding the clutch a little more so expect to add some wear to your clutch but once again that really depends on the individual

Only reason I have to change is there are hair line fractures all through my stock one! So need to change to something. Thought if I have to change then may as well go to a lightened jobby but I'm not keen on spending 500+ when I could be spending that in other more needed areas.

The car is just a toy so no commuting what so ever. Haven't even driven it this year

I run a d1 lightened flywheel in my race car, Haven't had any issues with it, checked it a couple of times last year when i had the gearbox out, still looks mint. I can't fault it.

Have you ever had it on a balancing rig? Not a dig just curious. Their clutches are **** but cant imagine a flywheel just flying apart not saying it never happens.

never had it on a balancing rig afaik, may have been looked at during 1 of my rebuilds. the cars got pretty much solid engine mounts and never had any vibrations, and the cars been up to redline pretty much every time it's used.

You running gotasuby mounts? Pretty keen to weld up a set of mounts to see how bad the vibes are.

Yeah those mounts, have to say considering theres no interior in the car the noise isnt too bad. then again i dont drive long distances and I'm normally wearing a helmet!

light flywheels are aweseome . rev match is so much faster . unsettles the car way less on every shift . can launch it awesome without breaking stuff

Have purchased the d1 racing one so when I finally get my car back together I'll let everyone know how it gets on
