SUBARU IMPREZA WRX STI TYPE RA - DETAIL (WARNING: Picture Heavy)

Hey Guys,

Seeing there was quite a few people who liked what I did with the Subaru XV Detailing, thought I would share this detailing I did last year.

My good friend recently purchased a SUBARU IMPREZA WRX STI TYPE RA (Man! thats a mouth full)

And as timing has it, his birthday was coming up. So I decided to give the Sub a good Tim Chai Scrub Down as a birthday present! As it was sight for sore eyes, well my eyes in general.

Here's what it looked like when I got it.

Exterior

Good from far, far from good; as the saying goes.

Headlights were a mess!

Lots of RDS (Random Deep Scratches) on all the door handles. This one was particularly the worst.

The badge was a tough one to get around detailing, a lot of hardened in the small crevices.

Lots of dirt caught the rear of the roof flap

Hardened road grime

Lots of road dust

More road dust

Just a quick spray with the pressure washer revealed what lies beneath

All those tiny little black dots is TAR!!!!! and literally the whole car was covered in it!

Interior

Looks tidy enough, lets have a closer look

Quite a bit of dust and fluff around the cluster

Dusty and some bread crumbs around the handbrake

A bit of dirt stuck in between the the crevices

Adjustable diff roller was filthy!

Mould growing on the inside

Dusty vents

Dust around the knobs

More dust in vents

Don't know how this got dirty.......

Yes, I cleaned under the seats..

and after cleaning..

Dirt, hair... "Stuff" that's been there for a while

and after....

Dirty pedals

and clean!

Whens the last time you looked at your safety belt? Pretty dusty no?

and surprisingly a pretty tidy boot. Not a lot of rubbish you usually find, like ROCKS and GRASS and...... other kinds of things I don't want to mention

Roof Flap

Mould growing all around the flap. Which indicates the last owner left it outside, or lived under a tree?

Headlight Restoration

If you're going to attempt to detail a car, I highly recommend you starting with the headlights first, as it does get quite messy with a lot of dusting from the compounds.

FINISHED!

Overall the process took me roughly 20hours over 3 days.

Couple of factors: Time/Weather and TAR EVERYWHERE!

The scrubbing down process was the toughest and most time consuming, I had to clay the whole car down and even that wasn't lifting the Tar spots off. Which I had to resort to using IronX to help remedy/hurry my process along.

Haha yeah I had the products I used up. But took it down just incase I got in trouble for advertising

Ha! Well it depends on the car and what the owners wants. And I charge accordingly to the time and product used.

For this sub, it would of cost him $800

Stuff it man, I want to know what sorta magic lotions and potions you use... obviously alongside a hell of a lot of elbow grease.

Both this and the XV look top notch.
