OBD2 Wireless?

Does anyone know of a wifi version of a OBD2 plug that would work with a JDM 2006 BL Legacy GT specB?

I need wifi because thats what most wireless versions are for iPhones. (not bluetooth).  I only want to it to view various gauges/status via phone.  Not for reflashing.

Will this work with my vehicle?

I got one like this from Jaycar.

But for some reason will only read codes with Torque.

Was going to take it back but never got round to it.

If you do e one from Jaycar make sure you test it before leaving the carpark, then if it doesn't work its easy to return.

What App are you using for the gauges?

Hmm interesting. I was going to use Dash command.  I wanted one with low power sleep mode since I'll most likely leave it plugged in.

Will check if the Jaycar one sleeps

I had tried dash command too, didn't get much luck with that though. May have been the wifi unit I was using. The one you were looking at may be better.

Don't know if the one I have has a sleep mode. Never really looked into that. I will check the manual tonight if I remember

I tried one of those generic bluetooth ones off ebay on my 2003 legacy gt, and I only managed to read codes. Could read variables with a USB cable though, so maybe it was the unit I had.

I've got one of those PLX devices at home.

 

Got it for my V7 RA but didn't work because the factory ecu was modified. Worked perfect when plugged into the mrs Mazda 6 wagon. I downloaded and used the Torque app.

 

Its only been plugged in a couple of times and has been sitting back in it's package since so pretty much brand new

 

I don't need it anymore so happy to sell it if you're keen. Just flick me a PM if you are.

Except from the first post it sounds like they have an iphone, which BTSSM doesn't support.

if you get a wireless one, go for bluetooth. Wifi is a pain in the ass! Phone tries to use it as internet and doesnt get the fact it only sending info and to use data instead. with bluethiooth dont have that issue

Let's hope it works with my JDM Legacy.  When I had the B4, nothing worked, even had trouble with Evoscan and SSM cable.

Appreciate if anyone know what IOS app will work on the JDM Legacy?

So is the JDM legacy 2006 still SSM only?  Too much conflicting info all over the place.  

I get the feeling the Kiwi3 I ordered won't work...

2006 uses CAN for basic parameters but still relies on K-line for extended parameters
