Wheel Stripping Products / Techniques

I'd like to know what products or techniques people have used with success here in NZ. Specifically I'm trying to remove rattle can paint from wheels (ideally) without stripping the factory paint. So far I've tried isopropyl with no success, and turpentine with minimal to no success. I'm trying to avoid blasting and refinishing them at this point.

Valve hole shows the original colour.

hmm, Did you paint the wheels with rattle cans yourself?

If you find something that does remove the rattle can paint im pretty sure it would start removing or at least ruin the factory paint too. If you want it to look somewhat good you would probably have to get it repainted, you can do this yourself but you need a bunch of time to get it right as well as materials (I have done about 4 sets myself lol).

What is your goal with the wheels, are they going to be sold, repainted or just kept factory color?

I didn't paint them. Ultimately I will probably get @chulozumo

to coat them, but for now it'd be great if I could just get the green off and put some tyres on.

hmm difficult one, If it was me I would leave it or just get it coated now, would be the easiest options, you could risk having less than ideal wheels if it didnt turn out xD

If the wheels are anything decent like Rays or Works, then the finish could be anodized... which isn't affected by paint stripper. For example, my old V7 had CE28N's which were spray canned black. The black paint stripped off and didn't affect the factory finish.

If the person repainted it correctly including sanding back the factory clear coat to make it smooth and to make it stick better, wouldn't the factory coat be ruined? I may be wrong but whenever I paint wheels I sand back the paint (or at least the clear coat) to make it come out better. Kinda depends on how it was repainted, I may be wrong tho, im not an expert xD

Rub with petrol? I've used petrol to remove all sorts

I guess it's worth a try. I may as well just keep trying progressively more aggressive stuff until either the rattle can paint comes off or I hit bare metal and have to start again.

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
