Pulled this out my turb.

Came out of exhaust housing. No shaft play turbo appears to be mint. Turbo would only spool to 11psi on free boost. My question is: would this have caused the vf30 to only hold 11lbs?  Dont wana waste my weekend + gaskets just to install a faulty turbo again. Dont know where it came from. Looks like a bit of flexi but my upipe doesent have internal flexi so im thinkn the turbo was working just fine with this weged in there. Was about 600 rpm slower spool then it should have though. Its a risk I know but just thought id ask you guys. Thanks.

Not anymore by the looks of it ?

Dont some manifolds have a flexi section in the middle?

Yea. Not factory ones though, they use the bellow looking flexi’s instead.

Id say thats the issue, especially if the turbo looks like its fine. Count your lucky socks it got wedged in the scroll and didnt make it to the turbine. I would toss it back on and see how it goes.

Reminds me of the fibreglass stuff that started coming out of my muffler when it collapsed.

My Headers have no flexi. Yes im going to try use it again. Before I put the turbo together would getting the exhaust housing PP be a worthy thing?

Na, doubt it'll make any difference.
