What is the correct radiator???

I have a 2003(2002 model) Legacy BH5 auto GTB E-tune TT... and I'm having a hard time with what the "correct" radiator should be in the car. Some say the rad doesn't have a cap, but mine does. And, if I get one without a cap, does it matter? I can top up the fluid from the side reservoir.

have you got a Header tank too? Sounds like someone has put the wrong Radiator in it at some time

Yes, has a white overflow reservoir tank with a yellow cap attached. It’s an auto car. Thanks for the tip Joker.

Overflow isnt the Header tank I'm talking about

 

No header Tank then yes you'll need Radiator cap style rad (pictures might help of your engine bay)

 

but yes Auto is important part of the thing as there's a trans cooling loop built into the Radiator

 

Usually Turbo cars have a header tank, no turbos dont?

 

 

the Header Tank it bottom Centre in that image above (I found in the internet) this setup will have no Radiator cap, the overlflow bottle wis just out of this shot to the right by the Battery location

Some have a cap on both I've seen too, it's an odd mixture...

Only really matters to have the header tank.

chur yeah I was going to suggest an image of the car's ID Tag next so we can "see" what car he has

I did get the cap-less tank... works perfectly.

 

Car still performs like a slug... but that's another problem.
