Yeah I'm real happy with how quick it is out of the box... it's got aftermarket suspension, body braces etc so not much needs doing there, would just probably need good brake pads and fluid to be really competitive on a track

And, apart from the RA-R muffler, i never touched the exhaust (all stock), but i was planing to fit a 3 inch down pipe seeing as the boost controller is in, that should improve the spool up, even though it's not bad now...

Done any drifting in the wet yet? ;)

Get it on some gravel and wind up the DCCD and see what ya think...

It'll be more fun than a Legacy... :P

so basically what your saying is that the STi type RA spec C is f**king mental and runs 1.5 bar boost and will kill you mum,ur sister and ur sisters bf who thinks his evo is "pretty quick bro".... you hear that CS? we all need to go buy STi type RA spec C's!!!!

According to Best motoring all spec Cs have better handling than EVO. Have seen from a 2002 best motoring can't remember which months issue, they put in EVO 8 MR STI V7 and V8 Spec C. V7 Spec C is the faster. Also in 2007 issue, V10 Spec C wins EVO 9 MR.

Spec C is sure the best factory massive production car from Subaru and out performance the same model year of EVO.

Just noticed this thread, awsome to finally get the run down on the different versions & pick n mix options. Have always wondered whats what with the different spec c's ive seen & the different options they have. Sounds like the v7 ra spec c is an animal, 1.5 bar is pretty up there for a standard car, especially with the weight of them. My v8 spec c came with the standard seats & door cards (no blue sti interior), 4 pots (no brembo), lightweight carpet, no spoiler, no boot light or lining, wind up windows front & back, DCCD, no air con but it has drivers airbag. Wouldnt mind the 234kw v7 spec c power in the version 8 shell.

Yeah I would highly rate the spec c's, really don't have to do much with them to start hauling ass on the track. One's I have seen racing have been one of the fastest with realatively little in mods done.

Agreed, just look at BT. Not a lot required engine wise to be competitive, few suspension tweaks, some decent rubber & you're away

2. Fitting of a larger VF34 turbocharger, inlet and exhaust efficiency improvement through port modification of the cylinder heads increases torque by 11N m (1.2kg-m) to 384N m (39.2kg-m), it delivers sharper engine response and improves power efficiency. Upgrading of ECU, VVT system and Camshaft profiles further increase engine power output by 28kW (37.53HP), to 234kW (313.65HP). Unique, fully forged ‘Spec C’ pistons are fitted to cope with higher compressor charge (1.5bar/21.76PSI).

A std ver 8 puts out about 180kw atw on a TP rolling road.

Fastfour's spec c v8 put out about 180kw on a TP rolling road.

Mixja's old car v10 spec C ra put out around 195/198 kw from memory - stock on a TP rolling road.

It is true that the Spec Cs unofficially put out more than 300bhp in stock form. You just can't get official numbers. I've been told they get a little less than the S202, but not by much.

It's not UNOFFICIAL..., this is information FROM subaru >

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
