Advice needed for poddy on my TS-R

Hey Team

Wanting to in the future to fit a K&N poddy and intake pipe onto the leggy

Have heard however that K&N poddys are no good for the afm as they are oiled Yes?

I'm thinking of keeping it within the factory airbox have another one from the parts car to hack at for experimentation (cant spell looks right though) so that it still gets cold air without the need for a sheild

Was looking at one of these http://www.hyper.co.nz/drive/accessories/detail/?id=2084

Pod filters are more likely going to kill an AFM by not being properly braced so it all vibrates too much.

Have a read on the K&N website about the oil issue and the tests that they've done to try to prove it to be BS.

Cheers Koom

Whats your opinion obvioulsy it doesn't make sweet FA difference in a n/a but want some bling might just looksy at the intake pipe and just paint filter box lol

I wouldn't bother spending the cash on the intake pipe. If its the same price as that Mazda 6 one you linked to then I definately wouldn't recommend spending that much.

They do give the car a better intake induction noise. I was driving my mates TS-R a while back without the lid on the airbox and it made it sound quite nice.

In reality it'll basically do nothing except make a bit more noise and make you feel better about your car (which is why we do half the things we do anyway ;D)

Agreed hence why i fitted a dumpy (because I can) was loud and had to do diy (old peice of oven tray) flange gasket

Yea i wouldn't spend that much either they had them on spec the otherday for the one day sale 199 bucks do you know where i could just get a cheap but good looking intake pipe obviously mine as well as others have all the bloody hoses coming off the intake pipe

I agree with Koom, I have personally been running a K&N pod filter in my wrx's for last 8 years. Haven't managed to kill an AFM yet.

What about a K&N pannel filter? I put one in my Leggy and I was impressed with the gains - nothing major but you get the idea, and it all fits nicely in your original airbox.

+1 and then do the intake tract (get rid of resoantor) and nice intake noise and the ability to make the engine preform at its best

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
