Best head to put on CD block?

TT/V3 heads? Guessing totally BUT how abut all CD questions in one thread? :D

Haha yeah I'll limit myself to 2 heads soz ;)

do a searh this was a big topic not long ago. there is little different between the 3s and the 4s but it looks the same

there is a set on trademe that im selling at the moment for $450.00 its boxed and ready to go

No need to confirm he' s correct, they aren't the best heads but the best to use the phase 1 manifold.

Better heads would be V5/V6 heads but would require the matched Intake manifold.

think with the STI cams you can rev up to 8250-9000rpm redling as the lifters are more soldid and shims underbuckets. remember seeing GTB 7000 rpm?. depending if you want to just get your car going or you want something serious with your motor?

Ryan, that blown EJ20R of yours is perfectly good for a build with a CD block. That's basically what i did with mine, been running sweet for 25,000K's now with V3 STi stuff strapped on, such as manifolds and ECU and such, with VF39.

And San, auto GT's are 7000, cause they have the EJ20H. Manuals with the EJ20R are 7500, and mine's shown no issue with the STi's redline. Part numbers on the cams for 20R's and STi 20K's are the same, but that's a discussion had before. Also, apparently V3 is shim over. V4 is the shim under engine. ( <-- woops, not so) I can't recall if my GTB (BG5C, so same gen as V4) was shim under or over... i have pics though.

Can anyone tell if that's shim over bucket or shim under? I'm still learning.

I'm still trying to figure out exactly what is the same between proper GTB, and STi, and what is different. I was once told they were the same, and shown proof by someone who knows a feck load more than i. But lately i've been finding out some tid bits that confirm, and bits disprove that claim.

      Afternoon team,
      im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket. 
      Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.
