Hi clubbers.

Just wondering if I have fuel rails on my car as I know nothing about subis, but am very keen to learn.

I was told if you don't have em you can get wear on one of the pistons?

dunno

any help will be rad

Thanks guys

They all have fuel rails. If they don't have split rails then the last cylinder can get a fuel shortage under high loads. Basically in stock form think of it as one big loop going to the cylinders one after the other so if the fuel pressure isn't keeping up then the last one in the line will get low. The split rail mod splits the flow into two paths left and right heads each get a dedicated line. And in general keeps things more even between each cylinder.

Haven't done it myself so my knowledge is purely from reading others experiences so someone who has physically done it themselves will probably do a better job explaining it.

Beat me to it adikt.

Also if car is stock, as you say its the first mod you're thinking about, i wouldn't really say its needed. People only seem to do it on medium to large power builds

I don't know about that "4th piston often has problems" bit - I think it might be somewhat hearsay.

Put it this way - flat out, 1 of my injectors can dump approximately the same amount of fuel as all 4 on a WRX. And I don't have fuelling issues, with non-split factory rails. If you think about how the fuel pressure setup works (FPR at the end of the rails) you should always have fuel pressure at the injector, unless your pump can't keep up with the flow + pressure demand.

I read into it a long time ago and there was a different science to it. Fecked if i can remember where or why.

Factory airbox draws in cold air, more of it and less restrictive. Also prevents you killing the maf from vibration. Bov can give weird stumbling idle issues too.

Advantage of fresh oil, filters and an ecu reset is so the ecu is starting fresh, instead of having to totally relearn driving patterns.

Also, you'll quickly find whos advice to take with a pinch of salt. Some people can be a um... a touch blunt about things, but their motivations are in the right place ;-)

Welcome along, hope to see yah at an event or 2 in the near future :-)

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
