I went to get my car warrented today.

I went to a place Swindog told me wouldnt be very strict, not because i have a dodgy car, but because I didnt have the budget to be failed of silly things.

It failed.

the rubber cover for the clutch pedal

I've since found out this is a fair point to fail a car on, although ive owned subarus since 2003 and in all of them the rubber foot piece has come off, NEVER have i failed a WOF on this.

The drivers side tail light.

fair call, it was a quick replacement, borrowed of kamineko and had some boyracer tint spray crap on it. mostly cleaned off but not 100% back to factory, i have now cleaned it up totally.

Steering rack boot

replaced.

rear brake rotors

aparently because they have a small lip (were talking about 1-2mm) they are un wof-able.

i call BULL_____ on that one! they are well over the minimum thickness.

WTF!

the place i went to, the people were rude and customer service was very much lacking.

i would advise anyone NOT to go there.

im talking about the garage on the corner of Yarrow and Mary streets, Invercargill.

they try'd to tell me the car was lowered and i had an after market muffler...

its factory height and the muffler has "STI" stamped on the side...

grrrrrrrrrrr

ok rant over...

If you seriously think they are not correct you can get a second opinion or get them to show you in the warrent manual where it said what they think the rules are. Some warrent places have. God complex but they still have rules to follow

Ive taken mine there, in fact both the legacy and wrx. Mines a ton more modded than Rays and flys through. The only note i get is 'sports muffler fitted"

The legacy had a headlight bulb out but they even replaced it for me, charged me for the bulb but not the fitting and adjusted the lamp.

This was the same place Ray went to - Butler Autos on Yarrow St.

Two old blokes. But like i said to Ray, they may have had a bad day or another Subi owner pissing them off or they may have been audited too. That would tighten them up.

Just abit of bad luck.

I was actually gonna do this. But didnt have time last night. Ray now has no time before he heads to Dunners to see you blokes so ill fix it for him.

He has also stuffed the thread on his tie rod end so need to replace the whole tie rod end.

Also laugh at him as he jacked the carup on my jack while i was having tea, on the grass, in the wet and the car fell off the jack. Lol...eff i laughed haha. It had no front left wheel so it was stuck in the grass lol

Put it on blocks, take the wheels off, put it in first gear and get someone to drive it and then attack with the angle grinder. ;D

someone has their thinking cap on!!!

Used that method with a flap-wheel on my grinder to take all the old pad material off my rotors. Worked well untill my arm got tired and i started making flat spots

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
