Oh i just thought it'd be a way bigger job because the legacy bonnet scoops are 1 piece. From other posts looks like the job is around $200, hopefully i should have enough for that...

One peice how? Is the v8+ bonnet scoop in multiple peices? :S. As the v1/2 and the v3-6 wrx bonnet scoops are all 'one peice' also are they not? :S

Have a chat with MINTGTB

Cheers will do.

to do it properly and make it all "one piece" takes a fair bit of time plus there is paint on top of that

Oh I meant that the standard legacy scoop on the bonnet are 1 piece so i would need to get the angle grinder out to cut a square around the scoop.

All the impreza scoops are bolted on AFAIK, so thats why you can buy them separate. So fitting an impreza scoop to mine would need a bit of a big job i'm guessing.

Sort of hard to explain but what i meant was that a legacy bonnet has the scoop integrated like this:

And the impreza ones have them bolted on like this:

So i can find a scoop but to put it on, would need some custom work. Hope that made sense ;D

Yep many people have done that. I think what was meant about making it one piece, is to integrate the scoop and bonnet to make a seamless join. Involves a fair bit of bogging and sanding, and is quite time consuming. But certainly does look the best!

This was my old Legacy

You can see how there is no visible join marks between the bonnet and scoop.

So what you're saying is that the BONNET is one peice, with the scoop integrated, not that the other scoops have multiple peices?

I hate the english language sometimes.

Ahh I agree its so mind muddling.

K, so factory legacy bonnets don't have a scoop that sticks out and cannot be pulled out to fit on other bonnets. Its more like a big hole in the bonnet that has been moulded to take in air. There are no seams around the scoop. That black piece in the photo above is all one piece with the bonnet and doesn't really count as a scoop.

Whereas the WRX scoops can be taken off from their bonnets because they have bolts or clips or whatever (i'm not sure because i haven't actually seen one off yet).

Hope that made a little more sense.

Im personally not a fan of the big scoop, kind reminds me of those redneck v8 cars :)

I have however, seen a few custom Legacy wrx big scoop designs floating around on trademe. Im pretty sure the guy was just making fibreglass moulds and they looked pretty good and easy to install.

You can also get slightly larger ones from the Japanese auctions as like C-west.

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
