Manual Box Wires

Sorry noit sure if this should be in elelctrical ?? i knwo that the 4 pin connector coming out of my mmanual box is for the reverse and neautral switches. what is the other two pin connector for ?? thanks, just finishing off my conversion !!

cud be the speed sensor wiring, just confirm the box u gt is not a cable driven one

The speed sensors are located on the drivers side of the box

or if the box was dccd.. it would have 6 pins on the neutral/reverse plug ???

sounds like it is the speed sensor !! cdoming form the drivers side... box is off a 97 gt

speedo it is !! thanks - next, when testing for continuity for revrse and neutral switches am i testing for continuity between the wires ior continuity between the wires and earth cos i'm not getting any continuity between the wires !!

got continuity on reverse - starting to clean connectirs on neutral - thankls all !!

cintinuity between wires > one wire goes in to switch > gets switch off n on > then wire comes back out... soo two wires

work the box in reverse and manual etc with the test multimeter clipped on to the two wires to find continuity

sorted brown yellow and balck yellow is reverse, the other two must be neutral, reckon the switch is at fault, so when it stops rainig i'll pull the switch out and start from there

Lower front switch is reverse, upper rear is neutral.

an update , the reverse lights come on in reverse (complete with that bloody japanese auto beep - surely the fact that you're going backwards is enough of a hint!!!) - new manual switch in and wired up. thanks for the help !!!

p.s gaz -the motor spluttered into a ten second burble tonight - shut it off cos it's dark out, will give it a better go tomorrow ;o)

Was this part of a manual conversion? If so I wanna do the same on my BC5 (reverse lights that is)

yes it was, but on a bg5 - there's an excellent write up on the net on how to do a bc5 - the wiring is easy enough if you can use a multimeter, heat shrink and soldering iron and you casn follow a wiring diagram !!

I dont know how to load up pictures on here yet but here are some from tm from some old junk parts i had lying around... you only need to worry about the white plug that comes off the manual box and the plug that connects to the auto inhibitor switch...on that plug there are 12pins....were it clips in we will call the top of the plug, cut the plug off the inhibitor switch side so you can plug it in to the main loom when finished..on the bottom of the plug there are 4 pins..2 need to be crossed over to eleminate the N safety switch and the other 2 are for the rev lights..so you solder the 2 fatter wires together(1 should be black with white stripe and the other black with yellow stripe)..next is the rev lights...(one black with white stripe and the other red with white stripe)connect the black with white stripe wire to the green with white stripe and of course the red with white stripe to the solid green wire off the box.

Cheers, got mine all wired up, only difference was my wire was green with black stripe instead of red with white stripe (on the auto inhibitor connector).
