I had an '85 NZ assembled AE82 GT, non-emissioned 4AGE, Amon tuned suspension, NZ leather seats etc.

Lightweight, fast (quicker than most Euro hot hatches) and a ball to drive.

Car was written off a few years ago by a subsequent owner.

Later AE92s and AE100s just didn't have the pizzaz of the AE82.

My old Corolla GT was quicker and better handling.

Remember possum bornes 1st subaru was A RX twin carb coupe

He went very well. was lower in power but gripped better than every thing else.

Leone/brumby is real 4wd. 50/50 split real 4wd. No center diff so No diff lock needed lol . cant use it on tarmack unless driving straight. Front wheel drive, 4wd hi/low comes in very handy.

Never got it stuck so far ;D

I had an Omega shape Leone wagon with the Hi/Lo transfer case in it many moons ago. I used to have great fun hitting the gravel valleys out the back of Wakefield and Brightwater in Nelson. Car was very light, 1800 was grunty enough, and low ratio was good for about 65-70 in fifth from memory. Car was a tractor! Hard on the transmission though. A couple of fairly powerful pencil beam spots mounted on top of the bumper made it even more fun at night.

Wife had a Brumby when I met her, but I didn't get to drive it much. From memory it drove and felt pretty much like the first gen Leones. Considered getting one before I picked up the coupe.
