Subis for me are all about the presence, the looks and sound all play a prt in it.

Also I dont how it is elsewhere in NZ but they are very looked down on around where I live, seen as a "Poor mans" alternative to an EVO. I love an underdog. I had chances to buy EVOs but the WRX was always king for me. The only thing that would tempt me to an EVO is a TME.

And if I got the choice between say a 22b or a P1 STI or a TME the subi wins again.

IN my 20 years of subaru ownership I have and do drive various High performance cars including BMW's,Holden V8's,Merc SLK.

Also drive Toyotas and other makes and i keep coming back to subarus for fun,reliablity and cheap fun ......

Looks when i was a kid was a biiiiiig factor. I just reckon they NAILED it with the GC8's and BG's. Then i started to learn about the boxers and AWD, and that just cemented them in place as favoritest cars ever. ;D That boxer rumble is also soo good.

I couldn't own anything else now, it just isn't right if it isn't an AWD boxer.

Mitsi's i also like somewhat, i've never got the rivalry before, the EVO's and STi's share so much in common, with the rally heritage and AWD etc. But at the end of the day, they are yet another inline 4, boooring.

Personaly I love the sedan Imprezzas.

Wagons usualy dont do a lot for me except the GTBs.

But my personal fav is a toss up between a GC8 or a v8 STI.

I've driven and owned, 1984 GL auto wagon, Twin carby RX, Amiga non intercooled 1.8 Turbo.

Doubt it.

I've owned 3 BC5's in 5 year's never looked at a WRX/STI.

Generation 1 Legacys S1 and S2 are the most evocative shape.

To be fair im a big fan of the early shape Legacys, I had a MI (1800cc non turb) of the older shape and I loved it.

Was a hard choice going to the WRX after that but since than I have loved the Rexies.

I've almost driven as many GC8's as BC5's.

Not tempted.

Would rather buy an Evolution 3 RS.
