As with most things,it can be done but it Will cost, firstly u need to get a complete STi as u will need the engine, gearbox and complete running gear as nothing on the brumby will be suitable, you will also need to find a good brumby chassis (this would be the biggest hurdle as they are hard to find and "good" ones cost between 2 and 5 k )

Now that you have both cars you will need to take all of the running gear out of both.

Now you need to figure out what needs to be cut out of the brumby to get the engine to fit as the brumby's chassis rails are designed for a pushrod motor and not a double ohc setup, the single ohc engines do fit son you could put these heads onto STi block to get passed cutting the chassis rails.

Next you will have to make subframes or adapt the wrx ones to get the wrx gearbox, suspension and brakes to fit, also probably need the wrx dash and pedal box and clutch and brake master cylinders,

Ok almost finished :) wire the engine and chassis to run the wrx ecu and lights and such(I would just install the wrx loom)....

Now comes the hard part getting it certified,as long as you are running the complete wrx running gear and all modifications to chassis and the subframes are done by an engineer and u have the documentation to prove it then you shouldn't have an issue..

Why do I know all this i have brumby in my shed and thought the same thing until I figured out it would cost about 10 k and that is with me doing all the welding and cutting as I am a certified welder :)

Decided to supercharge it .....

Thats what stopped me with my one. I was going to fit a 3.3 and 5 speed sti box and drive train in to my old brumby ( same one DRFVDR has now )

It was just going to cost so much. So much work was needed. I also lacked the use of the welder which didnt help either.

I desided to sell and invest that money into my other project.

Damn it :D can any one measure how long it is from where the axle comes out of the gear box to the radiator on a legacy ( I know a eg33 fits in there :) )

I have 700 mm

I remember seeing a pic of a EJ20? (maybe EA82) and FWD Gbox on the back of the brat on USMB?

They had lined up the CV shafts up to where the center of the rear wheels.

It looked like that would just fit between the rear wheels and the back of the cab.

I make it 630mm from the center of axel stub on the trans to the back of the radiator, not incl the fan just the factory radiator itself :)

here's a nice looking brumby to start with ;)

mmm so it will fit :) damn it :) now i have to have alook to see if it doable without cutting to much chassis out :)

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
