wats wrong with acl ?

im sure they've been proven to be satisfactory

Have not heard of anyone else having issues with ACL anymore than any other brand of bearing as 9 times out of 10 it's not the bearing itself that has caused the failure. All depends on the installer and triple checking everything plus the tune.

Think some *people* are taking this some what personal... :P all I was asking is if anyone has used King bearing b4, as I thought i would give another brand a try, As for ACL bearings They are good quality and I Havent heard of anything negative Feedback towards this product.. And many re-builders use these..

King brgs are awesome !! - they have a thicker "soft" top metal layer bearing surface

ACL, esp race brgs are very hard on

Agreed most failures are due to either det or oil overheating not the bearings

ALL engine parts must be throughly cleaned, not just the bearings

Petrol is a gr8 cleaner but also quite dangerous too

I use brakleen, rags (lint free) and compressed air

Yep, Just never relly thought to clean the bearings ooops :P And yeah i normally use petrol + the compressor

Petrol and comp air = really f'n damgerous dude !!

All bearings should be clean and esp dry on assembly!! it helps with heat transfer to the rod when running

Petrol, most guys pour it into a wash bowl and have a couple of litres just sitting there- vapour coming off all the time

Brakleen, yes lots more expensive (I use around 8 cans per engine build) but lots safer

Ichi, have you heard of the industrial solvent called Zapp Wash? It's basically brake clean but renamed and alot cheaper, Marketing Chemicals distribute it. 20L, 60L or 205L containers, we use sh!tloads of it at work great stuff.

ACL bearings when bust (well recievership) last year. Some of there bearings are starting to get very hard to get.

Brakleen is good. The best thing as it doesnt eat plastics like alot of the other cheap brands do. Wurth brake clean is good aswell.

Isn't it better to have thin bearing material on the steel backing though?

Thick layers of "whitemetal", can and do squeeze out under pressure... which was a major disadvantage of the old poured bearings.

It used to be that race/high performance bearings had thinner than usual "whitemetal".

Perhaps things have changed since I was a young fellah?

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
