Flatmate just brought a new car

1999 WRX RA, confirmed Chassis number (it is an RA)

116 kms

Manual

100% stock, stock rims, stock exhaust, stock intake.

cost him 10999 with a 3 year warranty

Goes like a cut cat compared with other wrx's Ive been in

Subaru blue on gold 16's

Kinda pricey i'd say, could got an sti privately with that money.

I paid $8600 for my 2000 V6 RA V-limited 135,000km

He wanted to go bone stock and wanted the get the warranty.

Buying the 3 year warranty privatly would have cost him another 1500-2000

Anyway, just thought I would share

Yeah mine is stock standard too, it came with 17" MAK wheels which i sold for $610 and bought a set of Rays STI TE37s for $400.

And even with a 3 year warrently mine still works out cheaper.

I never trust dealerships, always ripping people off (esp fast fours and turbos).

Also my experience with warrenties, nothing goes wrong until the warrenty is up

Best of luck with the car though, RAs are MINT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

yea need a mate in the automotive market in order for it to be worth buying a warrenty really, plus itll prob only cover certain things, and be a limit of 3k or sumin so when you blow the big end, your screwed anwyay

My thoughts on price etc when buying a car.

If you are happy with the price you paid at the time then that is the main thing. Its like when people say (after you have brought something at a shop) - oh that was $10 or whatever cheaper at so and so shop. If you hadn't been happy with the original price you wouldn't have purchased it.

We have brought both privately and through dealers, its a choice thing and we choose for whatever reason at the time.

Nice car, I am sure it will be much loved and driven with pride.

yes they came non sti as i have one lol...and na certain v-limited ones did get the roof scoop..

is this a v-limited?? looks just like mine did! even the speaker pods in the back! - thery long gooone now though ;D

1000 wrx type RA were released on the japanese market in november 1999.( Non STI)

They came with 6 spoke RAYS mags from factory.

Nar, to be honest I think he is stoked to have a WRX, doubt he will do anything to it, maybe a Decat, heard that gets abit of power and after 120kms they are probably shagged anyway
