From what I've heard a big end failure should be pretty obvious. What are the symptoms and sounds that it's making?

Does the noise go away when the engine is warmed up? If so it could just be piston slap which is pretty common with higher mileage Subaru's

sounds like lifters to me...whens the last time u changed the oil?

Around 5k km ago iirc. I will be doing an oil change shortly, going to order some MBL8 to put through it

A good flush is to run a 50 50 mix of ATF and engine oil

And just do this before an oil change?

I was reading up though, and somewhere it said that this can be dangerous if you have a car with high k's (as i do) because large clumps of shit can dislodge and clog up your fuel system. How true is this?

fuel system in the oil lol??

nah man STP engine flush (in a red bottle) works really well have used it in alot of cars ive owned..cleanes the inside up like brand new plus it keeps your new oil gold for aaages...if it is your lifters making noise the engine flush will normally unblock the ports on the hydraulic lifters and get all the gunk out...if your engine has lifters that is ???

could be cambelt bearings ?

use a screw driver (a pretty long one) and stick it on the actual cylinder head it self and tell us if u can hear the exact noise through the screw driver... also place the screw driver in different spots ie alternator, cambelt cover in various places etc etc...screw driver works like a stethoscope :)

any sort of a flush can dislodge crap :)

wont effect fuel system as it is oil in the crankcase :) not fuel in the fuel tank :)

run i for a few K's then change to regular oil...

I run diesel oil in my cars as a/ I get it for free :) and b/ it runs more detergents so helps to keep the engine clean :)

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
