trade price for brakes (gc8)

well i need some new pads for the fron of my car.called bnt today and they quoted me 140$ for a standard set and the price goes up from there.to me that seems abit steep for a set of fronts only.

so i was wondering can anyone get trade price for some break pads?doesnt have to be through bnt.

I could as i get a very good trade discount from BNT BUT by the time i make a bit of profit( it is a business) and add on freight, it will be getting close to that at a guess

$140 is cheap, any less and they are likely to be crappy no-name rubbish.

If you have 4 pots I have some Bendix ultimates you can have for $100, at least 90% left on them. Ive just upgraded to some race endurance pads.

The Ultimates are good for road use and ocassional track-day, they do fade on you after repeated runs on the track. $140 would prob be the General CT type - I've been told the price on Bendix pads have gone up. I recall getting a set of Ultimates for ~$150 at BNT at 20% trade.

DB1170 is the Bendix part no for the GC8 4 pot calipers, a lot of other manufacturers reference them. Ferodo, for example use 1170FF

Sussed pads yet Alex?? might be getting me some so planning on doing a BIG purchase for anyone who needs some and try get a phat discount through the BNT i know..

It was Extreme Automotive Distributors in Lower Hutt. The guy said he had only just got them in. They otherwise generally do good prices.

What pads did you replace the Ultimates with? I'm guessing you had fade at Manfeild with the Ultimates...

That's an outrage!!!

Ferodo DS2000 are a far superior pad (yes, i have used both, and they are on my car atm) and around the same price.

Yes, the SRT pads are avail here. BNT, etc... can order them in. They are like $500+ RRP - so you can prob get better pads for the same price. I got quoted $350ish a while ago, when the Ultimates were $160ish..

I had already upgraded before Manfield, I have pagid yellows. They are not exactly in the same price bracket but they were very good for 9 laps
